Foreign and National channels The news bulletins are important because they give us a daily update of what happens in the world.
However, I tend to watch foreign channels that broadcast TV series, like Fox Life, Hollywood, TVCine and others.
Indeed, no other means of communication can bring us such dramatic images of historic events or tragic incidents.

Margaret Thatcher In fact, although we might not have the chance to visit foreign countries, television shows us the most symbolic places. We can also enjoy an exciting World Cup final on TV or learn how to cook an exquisite meal with the most famous chefs.

Jamie Oliver While television can be considered a valuable means of communication, it is not always very educational if we consider programmes like reality shows.
Some people also think that there is too much violence which can affect children.
Another problem is the increasing obesity figures in children due to lack of exercise and unhealthy eating habits. Also, if they spend too much time in front of the TV they don´t socialise as much as they should and they get addicted to TV.
Conclusion: Personally, I believe that television is very powerful. We simply need to use it wisely and control it, instead of letting it control us.
